Tennessee vs Philadelphia
It
may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Tennessee ultimately got
the result it was hoping for on Sunday. They skirted past Philadelphia
26-23.No one put up better numbers for Tennessee than Marcus Mariota,
who brought his A game into the match. He passed for 344 yards and 2
touchdowns. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse Malcolm
Butler, who racked up nine tackles.
Titans vs Eagles Live
Philadelphia got a solid performance out of Carson Wentz, who passed for 348 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. Near the top of the highlight reel was Wentz's 56-yard TD bomb to Jordan Matthews in the second quarter.
The victory bumped Tennessee's record up to 3-1. The loss dropped Philadelphia back to even at 2-2.
Next week Tennessee take on Buffalo at 5:00 p.m. Tennessee have kept their last 3 contests to within three points or fewer, so Buffalo should be prepared for a fight. As for Philadelphia, they will face off against Minnesota. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
The
Titans have a talented tandem at the safety position in Kevin Byard and
Kenny Vaccaro, and they’ve added another talent in Hooker, the team’s
fourth-round pick out of Iowa. Hooker has displayed great instincts in
practices, and has been the best rookie performer so far. Of course the
team’s top two picks – Jeffery Simmons and A.J. Brown – have been
sidelined and won’t play tonight, and I'll be surprised if we see guard
Nate Davis (third round) or D’Andre Walker (fifth round) either. Both
have been sidelined of late with injuries. So watch Hooker. Trust me on
this.
